I am an Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Materials Science and NanoEngineering at Rice University, USA. I completed my Ph.D. from Cornell University, USA, and B.Sc. from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Bangladesh.

My academic interest lies at the intersection of the engineering aspects of materials with an interdisciplinary outlook involving chemistry and biology. I focus on the structure, property, and performance relationships among novel combinations of materials from nano- to macro-scale. Eventually, I seek to design and fabricate ‘Nature-inspired Structures’ with an emphasis on sustainable design, materials, and manufacturing for a variety of engineering applications.

I hope you enjoy my website and find information here. Anyone who is interested or influenced to make science their way of life, please feel free to contact me. I value creativity, honesty, comprehensiveness, and persistence in every person with whom I work.

All the best,

Muhammad M. Rahman
